  • How do I apply for a program supported by TAMUS LSAMP?
    You can apply to the UGR program by clicking here or contacting us for more information.

  • Are all fields that require a scientific background supported?
    No. Only the majors that are considered NSF STEM Majors are supported. The following link will help you determine which fields are supported.

  • Must I be a United States citizen?
    Not necessarily. Students can be citizens or permanent residents. Any student who is classified as an international student is not eligible.

  • I am interested in applying for graduate school. How can the TAMUS LSAMP program help me?
    The Bridge to the Doctorate (BTD) Program is one of the programs offered by TAMUS LSAMP that is geared towards graduate students. You can find out more information on the BTD program here.

  • Who is Louis Stokes?
    Louis Stokes is currently a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1968, Louis Stokes was recognized as the most prominent civil rights lawyer in Cleveland. He also served as the main political advisor to his brother, Carl Stokes, who was the first African-American mayor of a major U.S. city (Cleveland, OH). As a cofounder of the Congressional Black Caucus, he perceives his role as champion of the underclass.
